It’s the Right Time if You Do it Right

Starting Up A Recruitment Company 2016 Saw The Highest Numbers Ever Recorded Of New Recruitment Businesses Opening Their Doors…

And the momentum increased as the year went on.

Could this be that some entrepreneurs waited until the Brexit vote was over, or was it of course that the imminence of a new year was the spur to start up.

Either way, the research report concluded that, by December 2016, the recruitment industry was worth £35.1 billion a year – a significant increase from the £26.5 billion it was showing in 2012/13.

The same report stated that “Employer hiring and the UK economy both remain strong and this is reflected in the number of recruitment entrepreneurs wanting to capitalise on positive trading conditions and go it alone’’.

But, there are some ‘buts’. The picture painted by this research is tinged with caution.

Agencies, it said, can no longer rely on simply their name or track record to win clients and candidates. It’s all about understanding the market more, engaging with clients – and candidates – and developing an appealing brand. What’s more, that brand, and its message, has to be communicated through a strong social media presence and the engagement factor has to be continually enhanced.

Now, that would appear to sit uneasily with being a start up recruitment business. If it’s tough for an established brand to engage and heighten awareness, how can you do it when you’re brand new?

The challenge looks like this. You’ve decided, having racked up 5 or 6 years experience, let’s say, to ‘go it alone’. Let’s also say you’ve managed to raise the finance to launch your business. But now, you’re the boss. And it’s all brand new. So you’ve got to find accountants, brand and web designers (kidding yourself you can do it yourself is just that – kidding yourself!). You’ve got to find premises, buy furniture and equipment, organise the software and systems and – irony of ironies – recruit some staff.

All of which is fine and exciting except while you’re doing that you’re not doing precisely what you set out to do which is run a recruitment business your way. And you’re not spending your time doing what you do best – which is finding new clients and candidates to grow your business.

In fact, you’ll probably discover that it’s a bit stressful, and a bit lonely. Suddenly there’s no mentor to turn to. And the excitement is now tempered by the stark reality of the risk you took. Launching is one thing. Having a regular income from the outset is another.

Recruit Ventures specialise in backing start up recruitment businesses.

Full initial funding is just part of the package. You’ll also receive a guaranteed salary, shares and dividends – and access to a complete back office and support system. You run the business, without running the risk.

Plus, we’ll help and guide you with your branding, website and marketing. We’ll be there to sort out your premises and leases. We’ll handle the payroll and systems. And, probably as important as anything, we’ll be there to mentor you at all times.

With all of that in place you’ll be able to concentrate on developing the business, making the most of your strengths. In short, you’ll have the help and support to develop an appealing brand, communicate it through a strong social media presence and deliver a continually enhanced engagement factor. Or to put it simply, you’ll be able to do it right.

It seems the time is right NOW and with a industry worth £35bn.. why wouldn’t you want a slice of that.
