Our Chairman John Buckman explains why he really DOES know what he is talking about when it comes to setting up recruitment businesses and helping others achieve their dream.

I Really Do Know How To Start-Up A Recruitment Business!
I post a lot of blogs on our website, and elsewhere, as you’ve probably seen. You’ll also have seen that I write a lot about what we do, and how I believe we can really help recruiters like you start up their own businesses.

So I thought perhaps it was time to tell you a bit about me, and why I know what I’m talking about.

First off, our business model is based on joint ventures. I know about that because I’m a joint venture myself. My business was set up with the backing of a partner who trusted me to get on with running it, but provided the support I needed. It worked, which is why it’s the basis of what we offer today.

Having run a recruitment business, and built it into a profitable and successful enterprise, I can now trust my talented management team to steer it. That’s given me the time to put my efforts and expertise into helping other people do what I did.

Five years ago I launched Recruit Ventures and it’s unique – and I choose the word carefully – business model. Since then we’ve financially supported and helped 46 (at time of writing – things move quickly!) people start up their own recruitment businesses.

From running a business, as a recruitment professional, I’ve utilised my entrepreneur flair to help others. The point is, the enterprises I’ve funded and supported are recruitment start-ups. Because I know that sector, and I know how it works.

I also know about hard work too. Getting here wasn’t a walk in the park. My guess is you’re not afraid of hard graft either. It’s just that you’re starting to think that it would make more sense if you saw the rewards of that effort yourself.
