Car Hire

If you’re starting up a recruitment business, what can you learn from a car hire company?

Quite a lot actually? Back in the early 1960s the USA brand leader for car rental was indisputably Herz. Trailing in second place was the relative newcomer, Avis.

It was legendary advertising agency Doyle Dane Bernbach who, classically, turned disadvantage into advantage and created the Avis ad campaign that said ‘When you’re only No 2 you try harder. Or else.’

It shifted Avis from loss to profit. It dramatically narrowed the gap in market share between Herz and Avis. Legend has it that whilst initially Herz ignored their competitor’s ads, and progress, it was Avis who got scared. By the end of the 60s they were so successful it looked like they might not be No 2 much longer. Then what could they say in their ads?

The point here is that when you start up your own recruitment business you’re going to be new, and inevitably No 2. Or, depending on the amount of competition on your patch, No 3, or 4…….

So, if you’re going to alter that position it’s not about re- creating those famous ads; but it is about trying harder – and letting people know that you do.

How would you do things if it was your decision?

How many times as a successful recruitment consultant have you thought about how you would do things if it was your decision? How many times have you wanted to go that extra mile because you knew that it would do the job? And do it better.

But, to really be able to put all your efforts into delivering the service that says you try harder you need the freedom that comes from real support. Otherwise you’re spinning all sorts of plates and worrying about bills, the premises, the cash flow; things you don’t want to worry about when you want to focus on building your business.

We know what that’s like. We’ve built a lot of recruitment businesses.  We understand. Which is why we are The Recruit Venture Group, specialised in helping recruitment professionals start up on their own.

We provide 100% funding, as well as access to a complete back office and support function. We give you the security that allows you to draw your own salary, creating the peace of mind you need to get on with the job. We help with branding, premises, website and even registering your company. All so that you can focus on delivering a great service.

If you have one dream – of starting your own recruitment business – apply now you’ll be new, but you’ll get on with the job and we get the feeling you may not be in second place for very long. Because we know you’ll try harder.

You must be able to make money

You must be able to make money from running your own recruitment business.

Quite a statement! And one worth examining.

Looked at this way first, you must be able to make money from running your own recruitment business – because having set it up, it has to work. It’s make or break time.

On another reading it means ‘You must be able to make money from running your own recruitment business’ – because you’re you. Five years’ experience in recruitment, probably made it to the stage where you’ve built up a reputation. You know your patch. Maybe you specialise in a particular sector. You run a desk. You know this business.  So you must be able to make money in it.

Then there’s the rather more general reading, based on the bigger picture.

Size means competitors but the recruitment industry is huge. Bigger than it’s ever been. It currently puts more money into the UK economy than food and drink, the arts, or advertising. Given that size – you must be able to make money from running your own recruitment business.

But getting started is the issue. Breaking away from ‘the job’, and shifting from recruitment consultant to Recruitment Consultancy is a big step. And if you’re going ‘to make money out of running your own recruitment business’ you need to be financially strong, properly supported and operationally sound.

We think we’ve developed exactly the right package for startup recruitment businesses.

The Recruit Venture Group operates specifically in this sector, with a mission to help recruitment professionals start up on their own.

We look for people with five years’ recruitment experience, the drive to succeed and a sound business plan. In return we provide 100% funding for you to launch, shares in your own business and access to our back office systems.  Which pretty much deals with ‘financially strong, properly supported and operationally sound’!

You’ll be able to pay yourself a salary so, even in the early stages, you’ll have the stability and peace of mind you need to get out there and prove that you  ‘must be able to make money from running your own recruitment business’.

There are never any total guarantees in business. Too many factors impact on it, and too many things are unforeseeable. However, if you run your own business without running the risk, because we take that for you, and you have a firm foundation from the start, the problems get smaller and the potential gets bigger.

If that sounds like a plan to you, apply Now and let’s talk it through.
